This website was created as a tribute to the classic glamour girl, Betty Brosmer. Betty's classic beauty put her on over 300 magazine covers and books. Every time you see a green tree hanging in an auto windshield, think of Betty. It was her effervescent smile on display cards that started that trend and made these tree air fresheners famous throughout the world. They are still sold today. Betty was the first model to receive
residuals every time her picture was published. This is one of the largest collections of Betty Brosmer photos. Hundreds of photos will still be added from original negatives and prints owned and copyrighted by Betty. Many have never been published before. WHAT YOU SEE ON THIS SITE NOW IS ONLY 5% OF WHAT'S TO COME. Keep coming back to see more photos. There were the great glamour girls of the 1930's, 40's and 50's. In the 30's and 40's it was Rita Hayworth, Lana Turner, Carole Lombard, Marlene Dietrich, Gloria Swanson, Hedy Lamarr, Lauren Bacall, Vivien Leigh, Greta Garbo, Betty Grable, Carole Landis, and the first blonde bombshell, the spectacular Jean Harlow. The true "golden age of glamour," not only for movie stars but also for models, was the 1950's, and the glamour girls of this period were: Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Bridgette Bardot, Anita Ekberg, Gina Lollobrigida, Sophia Loren, Ava Gardner, Ingrid Bergman, Jayne Mansfield, Mamie Van Doren, Suzy Parker, Kim Novak and, ultimately, the incredible Betty Brosmer. The 1960's became the age of reality and with it nothing was left to the imagination. The mystery was gone. The motto of the day is "What you see is what you get." Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but glamour was gone forever. This collection contains The Best of the Best, and that is Betty Brosmer. BETTY BROSMER IS THE GLAMOUR GIRL WHO PERSONIFIES WHAT THE WORD "GLAMOUR" REALLY MEANS: beauty, allure, charm, elegance, magnetism, desirability and charisma. These words have all been used in publications describing Betty, including awesome, engaging, captivating, irresistible, dazzling, radiant, exquisite, enchanting, stunning, fabulous and sensational. It could not have been said any better than by Steve Sullivan, foremost author of several books specializing in the Great Glamour Girls of the 20th Century. In one of his books he wrote about Betty: "...there will never be another glamour girl like Betty Brosmer. Her classically sunny, all-American blonde beauty was a worthy counterpart to that of Marilyn Monroe. Her magnificently contoured-beyond-perfection figure was without equal. Further, there was a glow, an incandescence about Betty that was not to be found in any other model. And the total package was so utterly winning that Betty -- without every revealing much more epidermis than one would be likely to see at the beach -- was the definitive super model of the 1950's."
